Games for Good Program
In 2016, the value of the Indian gaming industry amounted to 30.8 billion Indian rupees. It is expected that the industry will be worth 71 billion Indian rupees in 2021. Based on 2015 data, digital games market in India is dominated by mobile gaming, as that category held nearly 50% of revenues in the measured period. As of mid-2016, India ranked sixth among global markets when it came to share of mobile game installs (almost 2.9% of global mobile game installs occurred in India). These statistics clearly detail the flow of trends in the gaming industry and popular gaming markets like India.
Leveraging this burgeoning trend, IAC has conceptualized, designed and developed a notable program focused on spreading good in society through gaming and further strengthening Indo-U.S. ties. This program focuses on game designing, technical skills, the integration of a technical and social cause theme i.e. designing computer games for improving societies and creating a positive impact. This is the Games for Good: Designing Games With A Social Impact Program (GFG Program) being conducted during July 25-28, 2019 in Hyderabad, India.
